Indians have been holding top positions in the world’s leading tech companies for some time. Apple, the world’s largest company in terms of market cap, has recently replaced Indian-origin Kevan Parekh as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Parekh who has been associated with Apple for the last 11 years will be replacing Luca Maestri in 2025. In this context, let us see which global tech companies have Indians holding the top positions.

Sundar Pichai

The CEO of the world’s leading tech company Google, Sundar Pichai was born on July 12, 1972 in Chennai. He joined Google in 2004. In 2015, he was appointed the CEO of Google. Following this, he was made CEO of Alphabet Inc. in 2019.

Satya Nadella

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was appointed to his current position in 2014. He was born in Hyderabad in the 1967.

Neil Mohan

Neil Mohan who is of Indian origin is the CEO of YouTube, the world’s largest video sharing platform. Mohan completed his schooling from Class 9 to Class 12 grade from St. Francis School in Lucknow.

Shantanu Narayan

Indian-origin Shantanu Narayan is currently the Adobe Inc. Shantanu was born in a Telugu-speaking family in Hyderabad.

Ajay Banga

Indian-American entrepreneur Ajay Banga is the President of the World Bank. Born on November 10, 1959 in Pune, Banga has earlier been the CEO of Mastercard.

Arvind Krishna

IBM CEO Arvind Krishna. Krishna has been associated with the company since 1990. He took over the responsibility of CEO in IBM from 2020. Born in 1962 in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, Krishna studied at IIT Kanpur.

Nikesh Arora

Indian-origin Nikesh Arora is the CEO of cybersecurity giant Palo Alto Networks. Arora who has been leading the company since 2018 was born on February 9, 1968 in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. He has studied from IIT BHU.

Sanjay Malhotra

Born on 27 June 1958 in Kanpur, Sanjay Malhotra is the CEO of the American semiconductor chip making company Micron. He holds an engineering degree from BITS Pilani.

George Kurien

Kerala-born George Kurian is the CEO of global data storage and management services firm NetApp.
