In a major development, Bahraich police engaged in a shootout with Sarfaraz, the prime accused in the murder of Ramgopal Mishra. Both Sarfaraz, also known as Rinku, and his accomplice Talib were injured during the encounter near the Handa Basehri Canal, close to the Nepal border. The accused were reportedly attempting to flee to Nepal when the police intercepted them.
