Navratri 2024: Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory, Know Which Routes to Avoid

Due to the Ramleela event taking place at Red Fort, traffic restrictions have been enforced on Subhash Marg in central Delhi during the nine days of Navratri

Amid Navratri festivities across the country, the Delhi Traffic Police have come up with special arrangements and traffic restrictions to prevent congestion in the national capital.

Traffic Affected on These Routes

In view of the Ramleela event at the Red Fort area, traffic restrictions have been enforced on Subhash Marg in central Delhi during the nine days of Navratri. According to the advisory issued by the Delhi traffic police, a large crowd is expected during the event. Therefore, to ensure smooth traffic flow in the area, movement of all vehicles on Lower Subhash Marg has been restricted from 5 p.m. to 12:30 am from October 4 to October 12.

The advisory also stated that DTC and cluster buses, as well as heavy and commercial vehicles, are banned on Upper Subhash Marg, from Delhi Gate to Chhatta Rail, during the same period.

The traffic advisory also includes route changes due to ongoing road repair works in various parts of Delhi.

One such repair work is ongoing at the Sarita Vihar Flyover on Mathura Road, one of the busiest routes in the city, which could lead to significant traffic congestion. As a result, traffic is expected to remain slow until October 30. The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to be cautious and use alternate routes where possible.
